Resolution No. 074-98 — Code of Conduct

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community, Band of Mohican Indians, is a federally recognized Indian tribe with inherent sovereign powers, and is governed by the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal Council pursuant to the 1937 Constitution; and,

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community has the authority under its constitution and its inherent rights as a sovereign nation to adopt and amend Ordinances; and,

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal Council, pursuant to Article VII Section 1(h) has the authority and responsibility to regulate its own conduct; and,

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal Council desires to prohibit Tribal Council members from representing individuals whose interests maybe in conflict with the Stockbridge-Munsee Community.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal Council hereby adopts the amendment to Chapter 51, Code of Conduct Ordinance by creating Section 51.4.
